235 oil weight? And capacity?

What grade oil should I run in a 1954 inline six? Mileage is unknown... I'm in Southern CA, so the temp is usually between 65-80 degrees.

Also does anyone know the capacity offhand?

Re: 235 oil weight?

I'd run 10w40 Mobil 1 synthetic.

Re: 235 oil weight?

30 non detergent was original spec, but I ran 10-40, 20-15 in the Arizona summers in my 235.

Re: 235 oil weight?

Really any oil will be fine, those older motors weren't built with the tolerance these new motors have. Just think of all the different brands and weights that have been run through it in the last 50 or so years. I put rotella in mine.
