Re: Any pics of 55-66 Stepside Bed on a 67-72?

Great question! In a previous post, I'd asked if an earlier bed would fit on a '67-'72 and the answers I got was no. Hopefully, somebody has pics.

There are some differences in the cross sills as well over the years but from 55+ they are all pretty close

Yes sir your correct about that. The bed on my '57 is from ~'62. I had to modify it a little but I was putting a metal floor in it in anyway.

Nope. 55-59 all alike, then sills changed but sides and fenders same 60-66. Sides have same dimensions/profile 55-72, fender mounting holes different (obviously) on 55-66 compared to 67-72. 73-87 completely different, requires major mods to work.

Re: Any pics of 55-66 Stepside Bed on a 67-72?

There's a thread on here about adapting the 73+ sides to be used with 67-72 fenders. On 73+, the steps have a 90 degree bend and go up into the bed side, requiring a filler to be fabbed I order to use 67-72 steps. I'm using a set of 55-66 bedsides with 68 fenders. Just had to drill new 67-72 fender mounting holes and weld up the old 55-66 ones.

The 60-62 also have different mounting positions than the 63-66 due to the x frame used in 60-62.
