Question 19.5 wheel question

i've parted out a lot of 67-72s in the past 30 years but have never seen factory 19.5s til last night. it's a 72 gmc 3500 dually with a 133 inch wheelbase. i will post some pics when i get it home. one thing that was really strange, it had no power brake booster and the master cylinder was huge compared to my 3/4 tons. the SPID was real clean so hopefully i can get a pic. front wheels are 5 lug, didn't pay attention to the rears, but to me it looks bigger than a normal 1 ton. it has a 350, 4 speed, cab lights and power steering. has a big utility bed with side toolboxes.

Re: 19.5 wheel question

My cousin has a 70 GMC with the 10 lug 11,000 rear axle. It's just a heavy duty version of the C/30 , it should also have a drum style emergency brake on the back of the transmission.

Re: 19.5 wheel question

1.5 tonners were an odd duck. they came with 8 bolt rims like the 3/4 tonners or 5 bolts . I dont re call if that five bolt patter was like the two tonnner c50's identity crisis in the worst way

Jerry, I would think the wheels would have more value than just scrap but you may have to sit on them for awhile. I myself would keep them along with that rear axle, front dual adapters, hubs and maybe any other pieces that look like are heavier than the normal 1 ton stuff. Since that 10 bolt pattern is the same as the C/40 on up trucks I would think you could run 22.5 wheels on them, lots more tire choices with that size than the 19.5s Good parts for someone wanting to build a Heavy Hauler!
