What's the value on these C10?

Sorry to keep asking questions just new to the C10 trucks. Anyway I was out with mine today, it's a 69 black long bed CST. Mostly original, well except the engine and cluster... But is in real good shape. Original paint is black, original interior as far as I was told. Has bondo in some small areas but been a Florida truck. It's no show stopper but in really good shape. So I was out today with my daughter and was stopped by a person claiming to know about C10 trucks. He saw mine, liked it and told me it's a min 10 grand truck and to not mod it. Well of course my plans are to keep it original as I can so no issue there. Looking on eBay some are going for really high dollar signs... Makes me wonder what is the common truck going for? 7 k ? 10 k? I will try to post pics, not trying to sell just hoping when I bought it 2 weeks ago that I got a good deal on it. Thanks guys for the help.
Kris

Re: What's the value on these C10?

So C20, C30, K10/20/30 and all GMC are not worth mention?

No need to apologize. You ask about C10 not C20, C30, K10/20/30 and all GMC, whether they are worth the mention or not.

Please post some photos so we can see your truck.

Take care,
Tom

Re: What's the value on these C10?

Yep I will try to post some this week. I work a lot so later in the week will be easier when I get the chance. Is there a link on here on how to post pics. Got an IPad so it may be slightly different.
Thanks,
Kris

Re: What's the value on these C10?

Value on these trucks is somewhat subjective. Most stock, great condition trucks are probably in the 7-10 K range depending on area. Modded trucks are all over the board. A bagged truck may not be worth much to one person while another may consider it as having all the hard work done. Color can also make a big difference, resale red is always good as is black if the truck is straight enough. When it comes down to it, a truck is worth what someone will take for it or what someone refuses for it. Then you have "sentimental Value" some have inherited a $200 dollar truck and will put $20,000 in it because tey have memories of riding with gramps in it.

Kris, My definition of a "good deal" for me in a collector car/truck is one that doesn't crimp my limited finances too bad, isn't a mechanical PITA, that I enjoy driving and piddlin' with.
Where are you in Florida?

Re: What's the value on these C10?

These questions are kind of pointless. You like the truck, you buy the truck, and you enjoy the truck.

I am not a dealer so I am not buying to sell them. I buy them to drive them.

The opinions of worth are just that opinions, not worth much unless you plunk down the cash.

Also do mods make them more valuable? Wait another 10 years there will be fewer original trucks left, fewer still in #2 shape or better. Then tell me what will be worth more. In the car arena original is hot, no way to tell for sure if this will happen with trucks. But how many nice originals are left. Not used as work trucks, and beat up.

Re: What's the value on these C10?

Thanks guys for the responses thus far, I plan to keep it as close to original as possible, but I know that I will need to invest in minor bodywork one day. I will shoot some pics out this week when I can.. Been busy running between 2 jobs so time management is a must lately.

Re: What's the value on these C10?

Location also makes a difference. Your truck may cost $2000 in the PNW, $5000 in Cali & $10,000 on the east coast. Long beds go fairly cheap still compared to short boxes. Around here you can still get a solid swb driver in the $2g range, now back east a rust bucket is that price. Need pics to really know what you have, but if that guy thinks it's worth $10g take the $ and run, I would in my area at least lol Restored long beds in my area don't even sell for that or takes years to sell above that.

Re: What's the value on these C10?

As said ... these prices really vary. Is it stock or modified?

Small Block Big Block.

Bare bones or lots of options.

Rust or minimal rust.

I would go to the Trucks For Sale area and that should give you some ideas to cost.

Normally Big Block trucks with options will bring more money.

Just some thoughts.
