1969 auto transmission linkage
Hi,
I'm looking for the linkage to hook up the transmission in my 69 SB. The only piece I have is the bracket attached to frame. I'm going to try and attach photo of the parts needed. Can somebody please point me to where I can purchase these ? Also, I see that Lokar and Krueger?? make a kit. although I can wrap myself around how it would work. The geometry seems way off. I am using the Lokar system and its pretty straight forward. It comes with a good diagram and instructions and is a well made product. But I used it because of a trans swap. It doesn't require the use of the factory frame mounting piece with the spring and is fully adjustable so I know it would work for you. All you need to start with is the steering column and the transmission, everything else is included. Its just whether you really need it or not as the factory system would work fine for you. It may be easier and a lot quicker in the long run if you cant find the factory parts.

How would the Lokar work ?
Seems like the column attachment is way to far to the right ( standing in front ) of the transmission. Would end up being a very odd angle. You're saying you don't even use the frame mount across from trans ? Going to be a BB/TH400 swap if it matters. Take any picutes by chance when you installed it ? Thank you |

He is correct on the Lokar kit, I used one on my BB/TH400 and the quality is great. There is a small bend in the rod to get the correct angle. Fortunately I pulled out the factory rod and used it as a template to bend the new on. You will need the long kit when u order one.

Well I found the pictures I had of the stock linkage so here you go.
The first two are stock and the next two are also stock with descriptions The last one is the Lokar. These pictures courtesy of Texfirefighter.

Most pics I've seen show the spring in the other location near the tranny - like the two upper pics.
