Turn Radius - Left vs Right

I noticed recently that my turn radius when going left is about 30% better than when turning right. Has anyone had this issue or have an idea about what the issue might be?

Have any of the steering components been replaced? I would check the tie rod ends and see if they look equal as far as how many threads are showing on each end. I can't remember if the pitman arm is keyed to only go on one way or not but I think it is.....

Re: Turn Radius - Left vs Right

I know my truck was that way when bought it.

All I remember is I had to back off the steering stop on one side to get the steering box centered. Then it was just a matter of adjusting the steering linkage.

None of the steering components have been replaced, but I did install new leaf springs that are 2" over stock height. I'll take a look at the tie rod ends and pitman arm.

I don't know a lot about 4x4's but I would think installing the lift springs would shorten the drag link/pitman arm geometry on the drivers side.

That makes sense. I know they offer longer pitman arms for trucks with a 4"+ lift, but hadn't considered the effect with 2". Thanks LockDoc!

Re: Turn Radius - Left vs Right

I have a two inch TC springs on my truck. I installed a dropped arm to get away from the bump steer (mild). Again, check those steering stops. Eventually that adjustment is what fixed mine.
