Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

Here's ours. Nothing special just a 350 - 350 Combo. Vintage Air, Lincoln Mark VIII Fan - actuated by a Volvo Fan Relay, Ford F-150 Radiator Overflow Tank/Windshield Washer Combo, 73 C-10 Power Disc setup & Power Steering using Captainfab's brackets and re-using ALL the original 73 C-10 brake lines & proportioning valve. Hey I'm CHEAP but there is no substitution for quality which is why I purchased Captainfab's brackets. The other stuff came from Pick-N-Pull on 1/2 off days.

The Mule's heart area. Not nearly as fancy (yet) as many of the beautiful ones shown.

I love the way the overflow tank looks and fits in your truck. What year did it come out of and what did you have to do to make it fit as I know the voltage regulator is right there.
Thanks

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

This is my '66 with a 250. I've been cleaning and painting the engine a little at a time. I know it's supposed to be blue, but I like the orange better dammit! Right side and the valve cover looks pretty good now. I still have the front and left side to do. The oil pan will be painted off the truck when I drop it to change the gasket. For all the history buffs, note the original fawn paint showing on the firewall of this Atlanta built truck. Body color is 510 turquoise.

When I first saw your pics I got all excited, thinking it was a GMC w/ a red 230 in there. Not too many stock engine bays in this thread, and even fewer GMCs w/ inline engines. Trying to clean mine up and don't have any good stock role models to look at aside from this illustration.

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

Just put this in last weekend. Still have a little tuning to do to get it to run right. 230 out of a 63 c10 in my 65.

Re: Lets see some 1960 - 1966 engine bays

6cyl 3spd .. i rebuilt and painted the carb , and repaired both of the inner wheel wells . there is some rust that fell out of the hood laying on the left inner fender in the picture .
i don't know what cubic inch the engine is ? but it runs great now.
the engine was painted black , i painted it rustoleum safety red
before i put it in the truck .
