15x8 steelies

My blazer isn't anywhere close to needed them but I have located a set of 15x8 steelies from an 84 cucv. The guy wants $50 for them - only problem is he's 1.5hrs away. How hard is it to find these wheels? Will the backspacing work with my 70 k5 (currently with drums in front, may go to discs at some point)?

I got a sweet deal on a set of dog dish hubcaps earlier so I started looking for wheels - exactly what I need when my k5 is in pieces all over my shop!

Re: 15x8 steelies

the rear will fit no problem. the fronts should work as well as theyre going to be 4 nubs which will clear disks as well if you ever convert

Re: 15x8 steelies

If they are true 15x8 steel wheels and not the GM offered rally wheels $50 for 4 wheels is a killer deal. Jump on them before someone else does, Be sure they have 4 nubs for disc brake clearance, 3 nub will not clear the calipers.

Re: 15x8 steelies

Also, make sure it's the bead surface to bead surface that is 8" rather than total outer dimension (like a 6" wide OEM steelie).

Re: 15x8 steelies

If they really are what the ad says I'd make the drive. They generally sell on this forum for $100 each and that is just good pull offs without any refinishing.

Re: 15x8 steelies

I picked up the steelies a few weeks ago - the guy even had the spare! Now I'm trying to decide what to do with the 15x6 wheels - anyone know what a set in decent shape are worth? They are 3 nubs.

Those look great - did you powder coat them? Guess I'll take the junk tires off them and put them in the attic!
