the newer standard trans oil
The new standard trans takes auto transmission fluid, which I have a hard time excepting, do any of you guys, run anything different in there besides autofluid, or has anyone put in some kind of additive, mine feels like the gears are grinding slightly when its cold

I,m not an expert but! I know 86 firebirds used ATF,but after replacing the tranny in my 90' pu I used Pennzoil,synchromesh manual tranny fluid replaces part#12345349 or12345577
But I've heard of using 30# non detergent but with the cost of a tranny I was allways afraid to risk it.LOL |

Some of the newer maual transmissions use synchronizer ring linings similar to auto tranny clutch linings, instead of using solid brass rings like the older MT's.

We put 90 weight oil in one of our trucks at work without thinking about it, and the truck would hardly shift, grinding and binding. Spoke to the tranny rebuilders, and poured the synchromesh, in it and the sucker shifts like a dream now.
