I rented one a while back before I had one. It was about $40 for the day. Much less than buying one. Plus, you don't have to store it.

I got one a while back from Pep Boys for $126.00 out the door.
It folds up real nice and does not take up hardly any room. Nice hoist! You might look at Pep Boys before you rent.

Mine folds up too, but it still takes up space. It's at a friends house right now. He wanted it for his 65 Mustang. I kinda like him storing it for me. I don't have enough room in my garage to walk around right now, and my wife won't let me build a new one. Guess I'm gonna have to actually put this truck together if I want room.

Mine comes apart and stacks in the corner very nicely. Came with a engine stand that also comes apart...

If you rent, and you have another vehicle you can tow with, have your engine ready to hook up and jerk out. I like hookin the hoist up, remove 2 tranny bolts, and 2 motor mount bolts, and pull that sucker out.
If you ask about it, most rental places will have a deal where it is 1/2 price or something if you return it in a couple hrs.

Tree limb and a chain fall works well and a chain fall doesn't take up much room.
