Re: Aftermarket doors

short answer is don't....unless you have no other option...original doors are much easier to make work.....repop doors almost always have to be reworked to fit...

Re: Aftermarket doors

To tell you the truth. I did not do anything with them. You can see a little bit of a gap. By the gas cap. I dont care its not a show truck. They are good for me.

Re: Aftermarket doors

I also used aftermarket doors on mine, The doors were the best fitting pieces of aftermarket sheet metal I used. Mine to is not a show truck, I drive it. The only issue I had was the aftermarket strikers took some work to make fit. The repop fenders both inner and outer, and a grille surround I had to drill out spotwelds on them to make them fit. The doors just bolted on.

i have a few originals im looking at, but im really thinking just pull the trigger on the aftermarket doors. it will save time fixing any issues on the originals.

Re: Aftermarket doors

What are the old doors going for? How do they ship them?

depends on finding them first, then how much work they need plus shipping. skys the limit. the limit does start at zero so it varies. shipping can vary also. a lot of luck with hours of searching is my go to.

Re: Aftermarket doors

Dumb question , which is easier , mount the hinges on the door then bolt to the cab or bolt the hinges to the cab then to the door . My doors have been off for many years , just about to bolt my reproduction doors on for the first time .
Thanks
