Buddy Bucket seat height

I’m assembling my truck after paint and it looks like I’ve hit a roadblock.

I didn’t do a ton of test fitting with my seats because I ASSumed the base, from a Dodge Warlock, was the same as the chevy/GM truck seats.

Installed they look to be sittin real high. I’m posting some pics with measurements of the base height, if anybody has a GM buddy seat frame they could measure for comparison I’d appreciate it.

Anybody have a buddy bucket seat they can measure? Hate to cut up a powder coated seat frame but it’s either that or buy a new one I think.

Measured from floor to front of seat is 15”. My old bench seat is closer to 12”.

Dodge and gm frames are different from what I’ve read. The guy reproing the buddies won’t sell just a frame either. But, I’ve got to say, your seats are just awesome! Custom? Never seen that upholstery pattern it is the best

Well damn talk about 1 step forward 2 steps back. I guess I’ll try to sell this one to a Mopar guy.

Thanks for the comments on the upholstery. I wanted to keep them sorta stock looking so used 61? Chevy/ 65 GMC truck fabric from SMS. An outfit in Tennessee called Ricks Upholstery did all the stitch work, they did a good job on them. Hopefully I can track a base down and get a couple pics with everything installed.

Nothing a little cutting and welding of the seat mounting bracket wouldn't fix. Had to do that for a buddy who put in an aftermarket bench seat (really nice seat). Because of the foam thickness, he sat too high. Some cutting and welding and got those things as low as humanly possible. He fits fine now.

Ya that’s a good call, took the bandsaw to it tonight and chopper a tapered pie slice off the bottom of each side to put it at Chevy height. Gonna cover the cut edge with some plastic edging and then bolt it to angle iron on the inside with carriage bolts. Don’t wanna bubble the powder coat. Should still look somewhat decent.

My buddy frame is also from a dodge.
I modified it to work.
There's a thread here where a member fabbed new mounting plates that replicates the GM mounting.

Thanks I think I’ve got a plan now that won’t require any welding, that will mess up the powder coat, and still look decent.
