Rear wheel cylinder removal.

I'm in the process of redoing the rear brakes on my 63. New shoes Hardware wheel cylinders etc. Passenger side cylinder came off no problem but when I try to disconnect the fluid line the fitting won't release the tubing and wants to twist. Does anyone know of a way/trick to stop this from happening?
Thanks in advance
Charles

Re: Rear wheel cylinder removal.

Change of topic now. Does anyone know what size line I need to buy to replace the broken one to the drivers side wheel cylinder?
Thanks.

That should be 3/16" tube.

Re: Rear wheel cylinder removal.

Most parts houses for these trucks sell the left and rights in a pair. Not a bad idea to just replace both.

Re: Rear wheel cylinder removal.

Depending on how correct you want the the finished product your local parts store can match it up. It will always be too long so that might be an issue to you.

You could cut the line and reflare it with a typical double flaring tool. They don't clamp the larger lines very well but if you get a decent one 3/16" should flare OK.
