Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
Yeah, that's the look back in the 70's. I had 8 and 10" ET slots with GoodYear rallys on my 56 Ford. Slots were so popular some even used them as garden hose reels.

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
My dad hade a 58 studebaker pickup sold it to a friend who proceeded to turn it into a street rod. That was over 20 years ago and it's still sitting in his garage, shed and barn.
Not his but a nice one

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
Cool to see the Studies Mark and Mark. MD tags at York Fair Grounds. My friend Danny from Warrenton, VA had a late-40s M he sometimes runs up to the NSRA show. He has quite a few choices of cool rides. He's a body man/custom painter. He's had that pickup since the '70s, silver with gold tones in graphics. I think Cragar SSs. I'd like to own that time capsule on day
Some hotted up Ms EDIT: Never mind. I can't share any of those. Wouldn't want to share pictures of a man's truck on the internet for free just for the pleasure of seeing it I guess Mercurys will have to do

I did some custom flashing work at my friend Bill's house. He has a shop at his house and is a Ford guy. He has a clean '55 F100, but it was inside under the cover that day. His buddy stopped by in his Effie and I snapped this shot from the roof

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
Back probably in the early 1970s I heard someone say that the perfect pickup would be a Chevrolet frame, Ford body, and International engine.

Anyway, these are old trucks people buy now just as cool vehicles to drive. So they are all good if that's what you like

I seen this today. I actually had a 46 Ford pickup in the mid 80’s the one I had had a flathead V8 engine.

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
My logging buddy bought one of those old Ford 2-tons with a blown flathead v8.
He was going to put a different engine in it but being a Ford of course nothing fits. I dunno what finally happened to it - probably went to Pueblo for scrap.

Here is the 1946 I had. Not much room in the cab. The flathead V8 sounded awesome!

Very nice. I guess the cabs are carried over from the 39/40s

There was one or two local folks that wanted some cut up firewood which I normally didn't sell (just 20' logs). We rigged up some tall sideboards and took them a good load on his dodge since all I had was my log truck, a swb pickup, and the "nice" 71 with the the little camper.

Let me make sure I've got this right. You were flashing from the roof and a truck drove up?
