I thought that I would toss in a couple of pictures of the cab that I am going to use on the 72 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 project. I bought it as a mostly restored cab, but wound up cutting the GM rocker off of the R/H side of the cab and welding a new repop in it. The person who restored it did not hang the doors before he hung the rocker, so the original doors that I scavenged for it did not fit the right side. I also had to cut and reweld the cab corners and weld up a couple of rust holes that were missed. I found those once I sand blasted the cab for the surface rust that had developed on the cab from the time it was restored untill I did my work to it. (Wasn't sealed properly) It never ends!!! LOL!! The green is the etch primer, and the grey is the sanding primer. I didn't get a picture of the sealer that was aplied. This was a low hump cab, and I had to cut the center out of it, and weld nuts to the bottom of the cab to bolt the high hump down to. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Sure is nice to look at a cab all primed and ready for paint. Great that you are able to take it all the way apart.

I've looked at your panel pages a few times, gives me more of a ideal of what to expect if I ever get time to start on my 68 panel. Thanks & keep posting updates.

Thanks guys, for the complements. I have always had a done right attitude in everything that I do. I just figure if you are going to do it, it might as well be right!! I don't like shortcuts if it means sacrificing the quallity of the job. After all you may want me to work on a truck some day, or maybe buy one once they are up for sale. My name and buisness are on the line and although it may not mean anything to some people, it definately means something to me. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
