Re: 68 Longbed lower 1/3 what shocks?
Do yourself a favor & use relocation brackets (aftermarket or home-built) to decrease the angle on the rears. They're near the limit @ stock height. Any drop just pushes the limits.

The NoLimits Eng. rear shock relocation set-up works very well & several board members have made similar set-ups @ home. Check that out as well as the FAQ Suspension section on here for home built stuff.

Re: 68 Longbed lower 1/3 what shocks?
Doing a 2 1/2 inch dropped spindle and a 4 inch rear spring drop on my truck, 1972 C10 Long Bed. Bought new Monroe Sensa Trac shocks a few years ago so have very little mileage on them so will keep them on and bought shock relocators for the rear shocks. From what I've researched that combo should work together well.

Re: 68 Longbed lower 1/3 what shocks?
I just spotted this post and thought I should share the following information.
When I helped my dad compile this information that Grumpy old man posted he did so back around 2010 or so working in conjunction with our spring manufacturer and a KYB technical engineer. Our spring manufacturer provided us with the stock & drop spring specifications which we provided to KYB and we also provided KYB with shock angles at the different ride heights with the stock and drop springs installed checking maximum & minimum travel distances. During the process of doing this I remember that the KYB engineer pointed out that based on the fact the ¾ ton and ½ ton used the same shocks even though they sat at different heights original shocks were valved for a large range of travel and that the stock shocks they provide were valved appropriately for stock or any of the drops of 1-3” in front and 1-6” in the rear for both ½ & ¾ ton trucks as long as other suspension modifications were not done that decreased the minimum shock travel further than we reported to them. So the information we provide is based on the information we received from our shock provider of KYB. They stated that you could use shorter shocks but the valving of them would still be same as stock but with a shorter travel distance. I’m sure there was more but basically this is all I remember from when I helped get the shock angles and measurements as dad was the one passing on the information to KYB so I didn’t get to hear everything but was informed of the important aspects of KYB's recommendation. Re: 68 Longbed lower 1/3 what shocks?
I got my lowering kit from CPP it included the shocks and shock relocators. Call CPP tell them what you want to do and they will hook you up with a complete kit.

Re: 68 Longbed lower 1/3 what shocks?
I would think so . But I've put about 1000 miles on the truck and haven't notice any real difference in ride other than if I load the back it will hit the bump stops on hard bumps . I'm going to cut some off the bumpers
