Hey all

I want to put a large tire on my 2wd shorty. It has new HD springs all around. Im using GM 15x8 rally wheels. I was thinking of either 31, 32 or 33 tires since I want some height. I a little leary of the 33's since they may be a tad large. Anyone with any input would be appreciated.

We have 32's on a 4x4 short box, (wide) and they look good on it. I think that the 32's are a little large for a 2 wheel drive. My vote would be for the 31's. The 31's look good on our 2 wheel drives and they look good on our other 4x4's also.

It is a personnel choice when you get right down to it, but this would be my recommendation.

I got 33 12.50's on the Blazer, and 33 18.50's on the back of the 69. 33's fill the wheelwells very nicely.

IMO,,,31's or bigger on all 4 corners would look like a 4+4 wanna-be. I have 255/70R15's all all fours and they fill the hole without looking like a 4+4.

I don't know about that 4x4 wannabe crack. I have LT235/85R16s on all four corners. Tape measure says they're 32 1/2" (very meaty tread). I like 'em. Fills the wheelwells a lot better than my old LT245/75R16s. Better traction too.

I put Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on my C20. They're 38.5 inches....he he. It runs great with them. They have directional tread, so are pretty quiet. I put in 3500 leaf springs in a while back, and also have the air shocks in the back, so only had to cut a small arc out of the top of the fender well on the outside, since they're about 14 inches wide. I get a LOT of amazed looks and they sure are a great conversation starter. Took awhile to get used to the steering, cause I got radials in the front, but I'm going to put 35" claws in the front when I get the ducats. Btw, I have to try REALLY hard to get stuck now...lol......z

Yes..2WD. After I put the big springs in the back, the wells looked EMPTY, even with 35's. Now they look nice and filled. I'll try to post a pic......z

I've been using 31X10.5 Michelins for years. Just perfect for all purpose (dirt roads and highways). The only problem is the deep tread likes to pick up rocks and then spew them out at incredible speeds when you hit the happy highway. Hitchhikers beware!

I'd go with a 255 or 265 70 or even a 60 on the ralley's. Any tire that looks 4WD on a 2WD is tacky lookin' IMO!! Saw a 70 at PIGIEON FORGE that was awesome till I looked at the tires 31x10 just didn't do the truck justice,to big. Go with the above I think you like them better.
