Heat Riser Valve
I'm returning a 1972 C20 truck with its original 350 back to stock using the original cast iron intake and quadrajet carb. I will leave the crossover passages in the intake open as they were were originally. From the factory when new did the passenger side exhaust use a heat riser valve between the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe?

Re: Hear Riser Valve
My'69 C/20 with a 350 came from the factory with the heat riser on the driver's side.
Best pic I can find.

Re: Hear Riser Valve
my 350 engine had been removed, as a lot in the Pacific Northwest trucks had, but all the historical or current pics I have seen show it on the driver's side. memory serves me that the big block had it on the passenger side, and not sure about other engines. I "believe" all 350's had it on the driver side. Any easy tell-tale was how the stock aircleaner was installed. if the intake neck was on the driver side then the heat riser and stove pipe would follow suit. Perhaps do you still have the factory label on the aircleaner? that might help tell you how yours was.

Re: Hear Riser Valve
Could be possible that 2WD trucks had it on the drivers side, and 4WD was on the passenger side?

Re: Hear Riser Valve
My 70 350 4x4 had it on the passenger side. Took it off when I put the fuel injection on
