ZZ383 e.t.s:

If you have a zz383 or for that matter an HT383, please list your E.T.s and describe your vehicle and weight.

Actually, if you have ANY crate engine or any other engine that is commercially available (in other words you didn't build it) please also list your e.t., what vehicle and weight.

Re: ZZ383 e.t.s:

I have a GMPP 350 HO which is listed at 330hp/380tq in my 1978 Caprice. I bought the long block and added a Performer RPM intake and Edelbrock 600 carb. It has 1 5/8 primary longtube headers with full length 2.25 x piped dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. It has a stock TH350 with a 2000rpm B&M convertor with stock 2.41 gears and P255/70R15 tires. I don't know the weight, but it is a 2door 78 Caprice with full interior and a trunk full of tools and subs and a full tank of gass. GVW is 5500lbs but I know thats not the weight. Anyways, I ran 4 passes with a best of 15.871 @ 91. It ran 15.8 or 15.9 on all 4 passes. The 60ft were 2.3 to 2.4 with no wheel spin and the 1/8 was around a 10.8 I think. I need to add gears to get a better run but I wiped the cam before doing gears.

Re: ZZ383 e.t.s:

Not a ZZ383. Purchased a new GM Goodwrench 350 long block and installed in my old 71 C-10 short fleet. Only mods to motor were XE262H Comp cam, 1"5/8 headers with 2.25 duals, Weiand Action plus intake, and Barry Grant Vacuum sec 650. Truck had 3.73 gears, TH-350 with shift kit, and ET streets on 15x8 rally wheels. The best run was a 9.07 1/8th, and 14.30 in the 1/4. If I would have swapped to a double pumper carb and 1.6 ratio roller rocker it might have dipped in the 13's. It ran great and you can't beat the price on the ole goodwrench 350.
