i USED 1/4" pipe and 1/4" plate for the bottom

how are you guys determining where to cut for the pipe?

I just centered the pipe over the spring pocket and drew around it. Then I made the top plate and bolted it on, bolted the bag in the lower arm an bolted it on. Then I lifted the lower arm until the bag touched the upper plate and drew around the bag to mark for the mounting holes and air line hole in the plate. This way it is aligned perfectly. Hope that makes sense, it's hard typing something this long on my pda

some what makes sense when ur talking upper plate im assuming the one bolted to the crossmember? I already have the bag in the front so basically what ur saying is now draw a circle around the bag? and that should give me a rough idea?

my pipe is 3/16" so I'll use 3/16 plate for the bottom

Yeah, the one bolted to the cross member. If you bought the upper plate pre-made it should be centered with the spring pocket. I'd bolt up the lower arm and make sure, then just center your pipe over the pocket.

I like mikes idea as well, but I plan I taking my pipe & centering it over the original pocket in the A-arm and trace around it so I know where to cut

But I haven't got that far yet, I may wind up doing it like Mike (like mike... ha ha , I made a funny)

ok guys, here it is

I'm back from see'n my brother & bag'n the front of my truck

I took a lot of pics, so I'm not gonna post em all... Here is a link

Ima skip the disassembly & start with the good stuff

Cut'n the bump stop off

Bolt the upper plate to the bag & mock it up

Made the lower cup

We leveled the cup to the bottom edge of the A-arm

I couldn't get a pic of it aired out on teh ground, because my brothers air compressor didn't have the umph to get my truck up very high

But here it is on the trailer

It may go a little lower, but it's sitting on the swivel for the winches hook
And it's just about to hit the headers & bind the upper ball-joint
