Whats involved with converting 4wd to 2wd?

what involved with converting a 4wd blazer to 2wd? how difficult is it?

Cause finding a 2wd is near impossible. They only made them 70-82 and very few durrign that time.

Watch monstergarage monday. Rumor is they are converting a 88 too 2wd and making a pikes peak hill climber out of it.

Best way to do this is find a stipped out mid 80's 2wd truck. You will need to cut out the 32 4x4 cross member and then you can bolt the complet 2wd suspension and engine saddle to the 4x4 frame. In the rear you can do drop shackles, axle over spring or put the 2wd spring hangers on. They are shorter then the 4x4.

I'm actually concidering doing a 2wd re runner conversion so the stock rear 4x4 hight will be fine and I will be looking to do a 2wd lift on the front. Fiberglass fenders and 33-35's with 2 inches of lift. Might do a complete fiberglass clip, Loose the tail gate and go with my spares standing in the bed with a storage box. Make a partition wall inside the truck right behind the back seat. That will help the A/C and heat if I'm not having to heat and cool the cargo area.

I figure losing the transfer case, front axle, full fiberglass conversion kit from hannaman then ad in full roll cage including underhood I shouldl be able to get a K5 down to around 3500lb. With a 700 or 4l60e...might get about 20mpg ig I keep my foot out of it and be able to dd it.
End up with something like this.
