Post I forgot how to put it back together!!

Now I've really messed up! I took out fuel tank from my truck several months ago, and now I can't get it back in. If anyone has a similar setup, perhaps he/she could reassure me that I haven't lost my mind . . .

I have a '67 series 10 with the fuel tank in the cab (I know, I know). I have the tank back in place and bolted down, but I cannot connect the sending unit fuel output line to the line that takes the fuel straight down and outside the cab.

The sending unit output is threaded, as is the long (about 3') line that exits the cab in the center of the floor. I know that the long piece (3') connects under the cab to a flexible hose and then back to metal on it's way back to the engine.

What I can't figure out is how that piece connects to the sending unit. It just won't bend in the proper place - the tank's in the way.

The sending unit output should be pointing towards the passenger seat, right?

Is there another metal line I'm forgetting?

This seems like it should be very very simple, but I killed 1.5 hours on it tonight and got nowhere!!!!

Any help is appreciated,

Ryan

I just took mine out two weeks ago and what yu are saying seems right. You don't have anything trapped behind tanks do you? If all else fails, I say tweek the 3' piece and make it fit. You may have bent it removing it.
