Talking How to install rear springs?

In a couple more sessions, my front suspension rebuild will be completed.

Once I remove the rear springs to replace with my 3 inch lower springs, how can I install the new springs?- Other than a spring compressor?

Could I set my old six cylinder over the rear end to compress the suspension so I can install the shorter springs?

Any ideas appreciated.

You don't need to compress the rear springs. Just support the frame on jack stands and bolt the springs to the arms on the bottom. Then, jack the rearend up until the top of the springs touch the frame and bolt them to the frame.

rear springs are easy, I can have the swap done in 1/2 hour as long as the bolts are not rusted. all you do is unbolt the spring cups (one bolt on top and one on bottom) and they slide right out...
