heres the pics i finaly zed the frame 3'' i used the cam swap as an ezcuse to pull the motor and cut my truck in half lol so now i have an 7/7 1/2 static drop its pretty low kinda gotta waych the road more especialy wile turing but its ok maybe ill get bags and solve that problem the new cam went well too i changed from hydrolic to solid and went from a xe274h to an xs274s what a HUGE difference really woke up that LT-1 just like bigjimzz said ala and all i pulled like 3 nights after work and got it all done kinda nice being able to work in the shap whenever i want!! all the kids a highschool gave me some funny looks when i pulled in the other day with open headers but unfortunatly so did the cops that followed me to school haha -kyle heres the pics

Nice truck. I thought that I was the only one in high school on this board. I can't wait until I can work on my truck this weekend. Just got new sheet metal for my cab. Going to sandblast the frame and cab and put in the new panels.

Oh boy! that sucker is getting better everytime I see it! cool looking, how long ago did you paint it 2 tone? I still remember when you first had it in black primer, time for you to change your sig with the new drop, great looking rig.

What does "zed the frame" mean and what does it accomplish? I see where you cut the front end off, what changes did that make? Thanks, .......Jerry

you lower the front clip or any other part of the truck by bridging it lower into a Z shape. Similar to a body drop method. If you look for a post by Lowerd d I believe his name is, you will see how drastic a Z drop can get. His was almost laying rockers

the other car is a 1957 astin martin db-7 were restoring, i painted it in april i think but i think its going back to flat black soon i hate the paint i liked the truck sooo much better with the flat black its weird but........ and the z i cut the centersection out and moved it up 3'' wile the cab and core suport stay where they should hes a pic

Not too many people would paint a vehicle and then pull all the front sheetmetal off to modify the frame. Nice job you did there, looks kickass!

Did you do something to the inside of the frame rails? I'm no engineer, but I would think that cutting that frame would take away alot of the strength from the frame in a collision. Not only has it been cut and welded together out of line, but there is now a weak spot. I would think that if you hit something, that is the spot where it will come apart. I am thinking that it would absorb the forces from impact better in line than having a point of leverage to break. Again, I am no engineer, so I could be way wrong.
BTW, I think it looks cool, and it is a non-issue if you never have an accident.

I like the truck. Like the paint better than the primer, but that is just me. I especially like the "Aw shucks, it twernt nuthin" attitude. You have serious talent and are humble about it. A rare combination.

Whoa!!!......Let me get thet straight, you liked the truck in primer soooo much better than the killer paint job, that you are going to repaint the truck flat black?

If so.....I know where your comin' from, I wish I had left Screamin' in primer sometimes. I'm almost scared to work on her in fear of scratchin' her. Or the constant washing....PIA

Thats why I bought the 74 C20 in my sig, that one takes the abuse while Screamin' gets all the looks

Wow! that truck is gettin better quick...I wish i had a shop like that to work in. The Z look good too, i do have to ask if you used more metal than what we see for support? From what i have seen most people end up boxing the front of the frame when they Z it.

the whole back side its boxed too its 1/4 inch plate(thincker than the framerails) so it should be plenty, for those of you that think im crazy for repainting it flat black i dont really know why i wanna do it but i loved the flat black look its too nice now i dont like it, i loved how it was fast when every one else thought it wasnt i guesss sleeper maybe but not really so its gonna be back in black!! well back in flat black maybe after the summer thanks for all the complements -kyle
