How to protect newly cleaned cast iron intake manifolds?
I just got it back from the machine shop from serious cleaning, and it looks brand new, so obviously I don't want it to turn into a hunk of rust. How should I protect this thing? I really don't want to paint it. I want to keep that "new" look, and preserve it. Isn't there some kind of clear coat stuff you can use?
Any suggestions? Only idea I have right now is to prime it with self-etching primer, and throw some cast iron color paint on it.

PJ1 makes a rattle-can clear high-temp coating for motorcycle exhausts. If it will hold up on motorcycle exhausts it should hold up on manifolds.

I've used the cast coat as well, and I like it. The can says it's supposed to withstand temps up to 600 degrees.
