new to the site buying question for ya
Hi
I am new to the site and have been reading a ton of your post for a few weeks now and love them. I am looking at a 66 chevy c10 but it has a 69 bed. It has a rebuilt 350 and runs, little rust and a good project truck. This will be my first "project" truck but also a daily driver. Are fleetside beds hard to come by or stepsides? What should I look for before jumping into something like this. For $500 bucks I figure what the heck, I can find a 66 bed somewhere or can I? Thanks Jeff |

Re: new to the site buying question for ya
Hello Jeff. Welcome to the site. That may be a '66, but it's not a C10. With 8 lug wheels it's either a C20(3/4 ton) or a C30(1 ton) with single wheels. There's been some parts swapping there, for sure. The cab is '64-66, and it's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like '64 emblems on the front fenders, and that is definatley a '63 grill. But hey, for 500.00 bucks it's hard to beat. I've paid more than that for stuff I had to drag home. '60-66 beds can still be found if you look. Around here the long fleetside beds are easier to find than the long stepside beds, but I don't know about your area. Best of luck with it, Jeff.
