Re: engine is in (temporarly)

tried to pull the i6 out and needed the cherry picker to go up higher, but the hood was blocking it. so i just loosened the back bols and took out the outer 2 so i could raise the hood up more. the engine is in so i can get wire lenghts measured for the pcm location.
you guys like the tubular engine stands?

yea.. thats cool, yet custom at the same time...plus i cant afford the other side yet....havent seen anyone with that set up before have ya?? no, thats my trial fit (pass side) to see if it gave me the desired drop ( it did) so when it gets disassembled to go to paint/ powdercoat, the other side will of coarse be the same.

Did you make those mounts? No ac compressor on that engine. 5.3? What are you planning to do with the compressor clearance if you're using one. I want a 6.o and a 4L80 in a 72K 20, i just need to sell my truck before i can get the project really going....i'm just compiling parts right now. What about guages, stock or electric? Nice motor btw!

Re: engine is in (temporarly)

What brand are those motor mounts they look different from the ecc ones I've been looking at. Hard to tell in the pic. Have you ever heard anyone doing this swap in a 4x4?

Re: engine is in (temporarly)

i think you can pick up a few ponies with that upgrade. wouldn't it be easier to take the fenders and hood off? 6 bolts and all 3 come off as a unit if you keep the hood hinges on.
