Idea for recruiting new members.

I've seen about 6 of our trucks there this week working at the NEMO fair in Kirksvile. One really nice 67-8 4x4. I'm parking cars all week.
Anyway...
I plan to make some little flyers with our address on them to hand out. Something that just says check us out. Like a buisness card sized piece of paper that could go under the wiper blade or just be passed out. I think it might be good just to keep some on hand and put one on any of our trucks when you see one.
You could put your screen name down in the corner so they would know who sent them. What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea!! I think longhornmail and 68stepside have already been doing this. It's the perfect way to get more traffic flowing through here.

I know that Paneldeland hands out cards that his wife made with the board's address on it at shows. That seemd s to work out really well.

That's a great idea! If anyone has a .doc or whatever file of some good cards, I'd love to get it and print some out here. I don't have time to design a snazzy card. (If that's the case, why am I here now?) LOL!:p

Lightbulb GREAT!!

I love doing cool things on the 'PUTER......I think I can make some snazy cards......I'll make a few, and maybe I can ship them to all you all so we can have like similar cards!!!!! Hmmm.....If anyone is really interested, I'll do it to promote this great site!!!!and if I can't do it....I have the hook-ups at kinko's, and I can get a really good 'discount' on making stuff. LET ME KNOW!!!!It would take some time...but I'm up for it.

I always thought the window sticker idea was the best. I know some people (me included) don't like the flyers all over the windsheild. But then again, I never got one about a chevy truck!.

Yeah, Low69, I hate flyers, too. If someone singled me out because of my truck, and gave me a card with information about more trucks/folks like it/me, I would definitely visit. It's more of a personal invitation than a sticker is. That way they have the address in writing to take home with them, and you don't have to pass by at the right time in order for them to see and memorize it from your sticker. Don't get me wrong, I like my sticker...

It's been done a couple times in the past...shirts and hats too if memory serves.
Proceds went to Josh for operating costs. I was unable to participate last time, nor the time befpre....but i am thinking with the high number of new people, there would be a good demand again.
I know I am a little better off now, and would love a shirt and sticker.

SWINGSAX68,
Great idea! I'd love to have some cards! I think the idea of having them all the same would be cool! It may be a good idea to get Josh's "blessing" on the design first though. Afterall, it's his board.
I would pay to have the cards sent to me.
I like the sticker idea also for the rear window.
It would be great to see some new folks around.

Let's have a contest to see who can come up with the best card. Then they can be posted and we can all vote on them. Then people could print them off and take to have them printed or someone could take orders and get them all printed. Sounds like a good idea.
