longbed to shortbed conversion

I have searched the forum and haven't found any good links.

I am sure there has been some guys that have attempted shortending the chassis of a LB truck to shortbed. Can anyone give me the dimensions of a shortbed chassis? Any links and pictures would be great!

I have some ideas for this project and thought this would be the right place to get started. I also have a 68 camaro that is currently under contruction.

Thanks, Andrew

Re: longbed to shortbed conversion

There is a thread in the FAQ section that was very well done. Also Brad had a shop do his and has a lot of info on it as well. The big question is do you plan to cut the bed to fit, or get a bed to fit. That seems to be the toughest part.

Re: longbed to shortbed conversion

when shortning your frame... whats the dimensions of a shortbed, how far is the axle back, how far is the end of frame, bed mounts, stock shock mounts... etc... i'm wanting to cut the back of frame off and do a custom backhalf while shortning the chassis... help?
