I've still got a few odds and ends to dial in and of course there will be the usual little things to adjust/tighten/lube/fix...you get the idea. Heres the promised pics!

Re: The wifes Suburban is on the road!!!

Beautifull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But please.........put some trim rings on those wheels to break up that white!!!!! You would be surprised how much better it will look!!!!
When i first built mine I had the stock wheels and dog dished on it. The wheels were too white. I put some thin trim rings on the stock white wheels and WOW.....100% better!!!!

It is amazing how nice Medium Olive looks when fresh and new. Great looking burb. Your wife has good reason for the big smile. That and she is already color coordinating with the suburban...

Re: The wifes Suburban is on the road!!!

I know,I know those wheels have to go! We are probably going to go with the stock whiteys and hubcaps. Thats one of the little items I still have left to do.

Wow! Super nice truck. Wher did you get the carpet for the rear with the wheel house pieces? All the other trucks I've seen have painted wheel houses.

Re: The wifes Suburban is on the road!!!

The carpet set came from Brothers Truck Parts in California. The carpet fits very well. Its a little pricey at about $325 but the quality is good. They also supplied the seat covers and the body mounts(original style). Thanks for all of the compliments they really make the work worth it(the truck came out pretty nice too, don't ya think!!!!LOL).

Re: The wifes Suburban is on the road!!!

Wow, that turned out awesome. I'm still getting thru some setbacks to get it all tied together right. Spent most of today on seatbelt clean up.

My 72 pickup driver starter took a dump tonight. Need to get that fixed soon too. Its always something.

Your wife should be proud too. Maybe my wife will start liking mine more when its done. She struggles with all the time and money and remembers it when it wasn't so nice. I had all my spare parts (caps included) loaded to come home and starter died. Road home in a 71 Mini cooper.

There`s alot of work involved.Sometimes you wonder if you`ll get through. There`s ups amd downs along the way. But,if you stick out the ruff stuff, the sun shines through.
Now,about that restoration. It helps telling your wife it`s for her.I did this with my`63 Riviera (sincerely),I mean it was baby blue and everything. But,she rarely ever drove it.So,it was like it was mine. But,after 12 years and we decided to sell it reality returned. She got all the money.

You're really lucky to have a wife that supports your hobby. Can't tell you how many classified ads I see that say "wife says it must go."

Re: The wifes Suburban is on the road!!!

I need one like that (3/4, 4x4)to go with my current 2wd 1/2 tons...yes that is plural; I just recently acquired a '68 to keep my '72 company.

My wife likes the 'burbs but won't drive them, because they're too big for her(my S jimmy is too big for her), but she tolerates my truck habit; she's a keeper.
