What rearend is this?
Can anyone ID this rearend? I just picked up this truck - I don't think rear coils were an option on a '63 C-20... so if that's not stock I figured the rearend might not be either... any help? Sorry for the cheesy cell phone pics.

There may be some numbers stamped on the passangers side axel tube. The numbers will be on the front side and some letters. Wire brush that area post them numbers will help determine what you have there. If the information check both sides of the tube also the drivers side. But most are on the right tube on the front side just left of the center section. Larry

eaton yes coils on the 3/4 truck are comon. my 66 had that set up with the factory locker

Thats an Eaton. Not sure of the ring gear diameter. It was used through '72 then phased out in '73 by the 14 bolt. As mentioned above, it could be had with a Detroit No-Spin, and ratios are 4.10-5.13.

I pulled the heads and manifold off today - the motor is a 400 SBC, 2 bolt
 The rearend may be of the same vintage.

That rearend would've come in your truck originally. I would bet thats the original to your truck, if not, it's one identical to the original. 'Cept for those coilovers, those are defineatly not original.
