Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

Well, I paid $3,500.00 for mine as it is in this pic. It ran, but not very well. I've got one hell of a lot more in it now, and it doesn't look too much different.

My burban cost me $600.00.................................It wasn't rust free and came with a bonus in the back..............................It had a NOS aluminum grill still in the GM box and a drivers side GM fender in a box.........................................I surely have a lot more invested in it now and love my burb to death...............Hemmit

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

The old guy couldn't do anything with it....so it was giving to me for FREE...

The body was a rusty primer gray color, the instrument cluster was sitting on the steering column, and the engine looked like this:

About 2 weeks after, it started to take shape:

Notice the inside of the bed, thats how the outside looked....I never got a before pic (it was nasty) amazing what rattle primer will do !!

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

My Buddy also has a 66 and he paid 1500$ for his and it was out in a field not running. He is a mechanic so he showed up after he paid for it with his tools and spent about an hr on it, put gas in it fired it up and drove it home. The guy he bought it from said he wanted more for it after he cranked it up.

$500 California true rust free (OG rockers are still on there and solid). Bled the hyd clutch, replaced the gas and she was running! This is a few years later after I threw some wheels on her dropped a little and gave her a V8 and some go-fast parts:

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

I traded an 85 Mazda RX-7 (that i got for free) for my 65 C10. It was in rough shape and no motor or trans. I paid $400 for my 63 GMC then spent some time and got it running. Now the two trucks are combined into one monster. Still trying to get that new motor in.... Sorry if any of these haven't been sized.

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

I paid 5k for mine, which might have been high, but all the hard work was already done on her. New engine, bed mounted gas tank, mostly all updated electrical, lots of "go fast parts" , and many of the other conversions and such. there was almost no rust on it at all, so all it really needed was a good paint job (still saving for that) and some new bed wood.

It was my first vehicle, and I have put thousands of miles on it already and learned a lot from it. Best purchase I ever made

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

I paid $1100 for mine back in 1996. Then it had 3 speed on the tree and a 283 V8 that exhaled more blue smoke than your bong on a friday night

Re: when aquired how much did you pay for you trucks?

Seems i can't ever find real good deals. Can't recall the amount of times i have asked about a old truck and either they will not sell it or they think they have a gold nugget. I asked this guy about a 67 that i known has been sitting for about 9 years and he said going to keep it. Look at it about december going to be right. That was 2 years ago still sitting in the back yard.
