Depending on how old and worn your springs are it'll lower it about 1" or so. Atleast that's what my friends truck did

I was just wondering the same thing the other day. I will be swapping out my I-6 for a 350 in a couple weeks and was curious how much lower it might ride.

I left my worn out 6 cyl. springs in when I swapped in a 350 and it lowered the front end about 1.5 inches... I suspect a big block will set you down further, depending on how much sag the 6 cyl. springs have from age.... I recently put new springs in and got the front end aligned and it handles much better.

I will probably buy new springs. thanks for your input everyone. New springs would probably be the solution for my handling. yet i would like to have the meaner stance but performance does more! My engine is a 250 just rebuilt with 40thou on it. i would like to keep it incase i build a crusier like a 53 bel air. but since i am still with the parents, it is up to my dad since it is his garage and i just crowd it with my toys.
