We are going to reproduce the Suburban Body mount Cushions.

If negotiations go as planned with the manufacture, we will be producing 67-72 Suburban body mount cushions!! RUBBER!! I have been on a quest to locate NOS ones and have located enough to make one complete set, and have extras to use for patterns to reproduce... I have been given assurances that we will be the exclusives for them for 18 months. If my sales are not what they hope for in 18 months, they will be offering them to other retailers. This should be good for us Suburban and Panel owners.. Because nobody is reproducing them and of coarse they have been discontinued by GM. WES

that is great news wes! I like the fact that they give you an 18 moth window of exclusive selling rights... that's how it should be IMO when YOU do all the leg work.

Energy Suspention was making them in Polyurethane, but decided there wasn't enough market for them so they discontinued them. Urithane does not make good body mounts anyway, because they do not have any give. The chassis is flexible and the body is rigid. They has to be some give there in order for one not to distroy the other. WES

WES : hockey pucks drilled and sized have worked similar to the polyurethane hard when cold and a touch of flex in the heat.

Wes, it's awesome that you are doing this! More options are always a good thing for the hobby. I do want to say, however, that I have the graphite impregnated poly bushings by ES and love them. But since they are discontinued I suppose that doesn't really matter... Just glad I got mine and glad you are still so dedicated to the preservation of our hobby. You're the man!

out of curiosity, and the fact i may be buying some one day... would a 3/4 ton be the same as a 1/2 ton... how about C verses K chassis? (like the trucks)

I recently had to buy new 3/4 ton core support bushings. I had to buy NOS lower bushings. Oh my gosh they were expensive.

Re: We are going to reproduce the Suburban Body mount Cushions.

Thanks guys!! I appriciate the support. This business has never just been about selling parts for me it has more about preserving these while hopefully making enough money to live.
Andy, All 67-72 Suburban and Panel body mount cushions are the same acording to my GM master parts catolog. The only thing that is different is the 67-68 radiator core support bushings, all others are the same. It doesn't matter 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 4x4 they are all the same.
I never thought about using hocky pucks.. I would think that they would be too hard and if the truck is getting warm enough to soften the puck I might be running away from it to keep from getting burned... I would also wonder about how long they would last. WES

WES: fyi the puck will out last you and i and the grand kids kids. hard is -40f ,soft is 140F ( in your hand you might get it to start to bend) when the puck is cold the puck can be skated over and slapshot at what ever and the skate may cut the edge from a lot of ice time. the uv rays don't have enough effect to note. we have used them on body lifts on 4x4s to get from 1-3" of lift on trucks body and never a problem over the last 30+ years on 5+ trucks that i know of.

Re: We are going to reproduce the Suburban Body mount Cushions.

Cool, I wouldn't know how long they would last. UV wouldn't be a problem anyway, because they are in a spot where the sun would't get to them. Now tempratures of 140 at the frame where air is circulating all the time would be hard to reach. Even in the Arizona desert. WES

How long ago. I wouldn't have sold you body mounts that were not correct. It is possible that you purchased them befor they were discontinued. WES

Re: We are going to reproduce the Suburban Body mount Cushions.

Thanks guys. CG, I do not know if you purchased a set of these from me or not. I only remember selling maybe one set the entire time I have been in business. I do not have a price yet, as I am still waiting on my NOS ones to arive here so I can send them off. Fortunately it doesn't take as long to have these done as it does some of the sheet metal parts we had reproduced. I did manage to get prototypes of the latest Blazer quarter supports though... WES

Re: We are going to reproduce the Suburban Body mount Cushions.

This is great news. I'll probably need a set for my upcoming project, a '67 K/10 Sub. I'm thinking of lifting the body 2" or 3" -- will I need a full set of body bushings too? Pretty sure the original 42 year old bushings are on it now.
