My 2wd Blazer Project

I'm not good with all the computer stuff, but here are some pictures of my project. It's almost put back together.

Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

Looks like you've done a lot of work. What all are you're plans?

You're photos are probably too large for the upload limit. You'll either need to scale them down or you can post them on a site like Flickr and use the image button (looks like a picture of a mountain with a moon) to have them show in your post.

FYI, my understanding is that all first gen blazers had 6 lugs.

All 1st gen 4wd's had 6 lugs. But out of the 3 years that they offered 2wd's only the 70 had 6 lugs, the 71-72 2wd's had 5 lugs.

BTW, looks like a nice project, can't wait to see more pics.

Question Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

Is that a reproduction SWB truck bedside?

I am going to do the same thing with my '70. Still wish that they would come out with Blazer specific bedsides/quarters, but at least we have these!

Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

Yeah, the body shop doing the work had to take reproduction bed sides from a truck and cut morph them into the front part of the Blazer bed. They came out real straight and nice. I'm gonna mess with pictures tomorrow to try to get more pictures up. It's in it's final stages of being put back together. Painted it Hugger Orange.

I was able to take a picture of it today. They are blurry because of a bad camera.

Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

I had to have the side panels changed on my Blazer due to an accident it had been in. When the body shop looked at it, they found a lot of waves and deemed the metal to be unsalvageable. Raider Rudy was actually the one who found this Blazer. My uncle, C-10 King bought it and I bought it from him. I know there are a lot of Hugger Blazers out there but I love the color.

Here was the very very beginning when Raider Rudy first picked it up for my uncle Rene. (You can see the '71 Cheyene Super I use to own back in my garage.)

Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

Nice Blazer!
Any reason why you chose the 71-72 grill on such a rare blazer? (I do like them better than the '70 grill)
Do you plan to keep it 6-lug?

Re: My 2wd Blazer Project

I have always liked the 71-72 grille better. I'm still up in the air about keeping it 6 lug. Sometimes, I go back and forth. I'll probably end up keeping it six lug and try to find some nice rims and tires. I don't know if anybody can answer this but a cousin of mine was telling me that some of the six lug rims of today won't fit my Blazer.
