My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild

Just wanted to post some pics...the truck was fine at first but I just had to tear it down and do it form scratch...due to football injuries (ACL), motorcycle accidents, and layoffs here as of late, the build back has taken far longer then I was hoping and now with the funds being the way they are I have planty of times but am lacking the cheddar to do it ...it will see the street again though mark my words ...I'm really hoping for summer...here are some before and after/during pics

I will have to get some better pics of the rear...nothin impressive though by anymeans...swapped out the leaf spring to the inside...put some blocks on her and mounted a crossmember with some shock mount towers...really probably frowned upon by many but it does the trick

thanks...probably stick with what it had before...standard billet grill for the '83....already have the clear "crystal" headlight 9004 covertion for it...gotta get the parking lights...want the chrome bezels and got the new turn signals already...keep the amber....may do a billet bowtie in the middle...I bought one already...have to wait for it all to come together to see if I install it or not

Re: My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild

how did you get that tire on there? is the axle narrowed? I realize you moved the leafs inward. and I know a 15x10 will fit under a 80's model C10 with no prob. did you have to purchase a custom backspacing? or is it narraowed?

Re: My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild

WTH! LOL!! Ford 9inch, yes! lol. why the 8.8? did it already have the gears you wanted? thats weird. I could see if it were already loaded with 4.11 with posi and all it needed was shorter axles and tubes.. to each his own lol. still cool though. I wanna do the same for my 89
