Backhalf almost done

Got the rear done enough to roll it out. Needs some bracing here in there, but it's just about done. My goal was to keep it clean and simple.

Re: Backhalf almost done

sweet truck bro, did you weld the bung into the wishbone yet, looks like it's not, just wondering if you were gonna have any trouble with it. I'm doing the same set up on mine. What's the pitch on your back half where it goes up?

Thanks. It's actually 1.25" threaded tube inside some 1.5" I've got a super pivot that will replace the bushing. 25 degrees on the rails.

Gravitywerks universal triangulated 4-link. I converted it to wishbone. Gravitywerx kit was worth the money, but Suicidedoors has higher quality stuff in my opinion.

Re: Backhalf almost done

Appreciate the comments guys. Next up is the front crossmember and control arms. The spring pockets are going in favor of some bag plates. Arms will be .75" or so shorter to narrow the track width.

Re: Backhalf almost done

Did you section your crossmember to get it to lay out?

I decided to Z because it seemed to be the easiest method to achieve the drop I wanted and to center the wheels.

I ended up with a 3.25 or 3.50 Z at an angle to move the crossmember forward approx. 1". I started with a 4" Z to get it to lay out with the factory control arms and not bind the upper BJ's. I didnt like that for various reasons and decided to cut the control arms to flaten the BJ angle. That worked best and I re-z'd to what it is now.

Re: Backhalf almost done

i am sure you are going to this, since everything just looks tacked, i would gusset and triangulate all you mounting points. looks great to me. i always liked the wishbone setup. it just works.

Lowers are 32.5" center to center and wishbone width is 23" from center of bushings. The longest part of the wishbone bars are 29.5". The wishbone was a pain in the ass to make, but was well worth it in the end. Hope that helps.

I need to get some new shocks before I can do any mockup. I have some KYB's I bought last year, but they're too short. Bought them from CPP and they were supposedly for lowered trucks. Should have stuck with the stock lengths. Oh well. I'll sale them because they only have about 200 miles on them.
