2wd/4wd tranny tunnel

Anybody ever swapped a 4wd transmission tunnel into a 2wd cab? Both cabs are 1981-1987 so they have the non-removable tranny tunnel. I'm just wondering if anybody has actually done one before, and if they have some pics or even a procedure.

Re: 2wd/4wd tranny tunnel

2wd stick shifts have the same high hump tunnel in them and ALL 4x4's have it. Shouldn't be a problem if you got a low tunnel and want a high one cut the low out and put the high hump on with screws or something so it's removalable.

Re: 2wd/4wd tranny tunnel

If you do not want to cut the tunnel in, you can always go the body lift route but IMO I like trucks with out a body lift.

I agree, I absolutely hate body lifts, they are hard on everything. I went through all the trouble to cut out the floorand firewall of my '83 Toyota pickup, so I could fit the SBC and 350/203 combo underneath everything without bodylift.
