69 K20 I Might Buy...

Well, if my wife lets me...

The guy wants $2500, but sounds like he REALLY needs to unload it. Factory A/C, 4 speed, new hubs and tires, "custom" bumpers and roof rack, and plenty of rust.

Don't know what is up with the pics that he is sending me, but as you can tell from the ones that are messed up...something is messed up.

Anyways, been looking for a K20 for a long time. I let a 72 green go in the Seattle area for $3500 a while ago and I regret it because they are so stinking hard to find. I'd really like to find another 72 instead of the 69, but sometimes you just take what you can get. I know the body is a rust bucket, but I don't mind finding another body to put on it, I just want the frame. Eventually will do a 3.9 Cummins swap. I don't have the talent to do the 5.9 like that sweet one here in the forum.

So...is it worth $2500? I'd have to fly half way across the country and make a 2 day drive back. Worst case scenario is that it is worse than the pics and I thumb a ride home from a trucker.

Seems pretty high to me. Especially with all the travel you would have to do. Personally I'd pass. Be patient and monitor west coast listings and you should be able to score a much better deal. Just my opinion.

Hey there...I've got nothing to do with this, but just saw this post - looks like it'd need work too - but closer to you.

Thanks for putting up the link. Definitely like the 72 better. I forgot to change my profile. I live in Denver now. Maybe I'll just wait for a TX or AZ burb to show up...also had my heart set on a k20 but might settle for a 10. Thanks for the input!

that white one seems pretty nice.... The one across country has potenial, but a lot of metal work. If he said 1200 or so, maybe....just my 2 cents!

Yah, I'm a sucker for white vehicles and if I was still in Vancouver I would probably go get it. Gonna keep looking. I guess the teal one would be ok to "learn" on...

I would keep watching, I had this one up for sale for 4k a while ago and was flexible, in the end I couldnt part with it:

Barely any rust, 124k original miles stored in a garage. It literally dropped in my lap, they are out there...

I'd have to say pass on that first one. Needs too much metal work... and this coming from a rust belt guy.

Re: 69 K20 I Might Buy...

I bought my 125k mi 67 K10 for a song, I am 3rd owner, it has some rust that will be gone by next spring, I thought about selling it but changed my mind also. I think the roof rack on the blue one is hideous, the rust is fixable though, if he comes down on the price.I like the white one much better!! there are a couple of them around this town but I believe they are 2wd, could be wrong. If I see something I will let you know
