more power out of Edelbrock 1406

So, I have an Edelbrock 1406, which is built for fuel economy. Came on the truck. I want more power out of it. Can I get more power out of changing jets and rods, what else? I'm new to carbs. What size jets would you recommend? It's a daily driver/offroad truck.

Is this truck the one in your description line? With 35 inch tires? You may need more gear to get that thing moving. The carb will help but getting more power out of it is gonna be in the tune. Just adding bigger jets may not be what is best for your combo. What size engine do you have? what camshaft is in it? What type of exhuast does it have? There are as many varibles in that as there are people to tell you what to do. First thing to do is make sure you are runnig with a good tune up. Check the plugs wires and the such. When was the last time it had a cap and rotor and a set of new plugs and wires? Get it tuned the n go to the carb for more. The Edelbrock website has a owners manual that can be a great asset to you with that carb.

I have the same carb (1406 w/ electric choke), and the manual for it is very informative on tuning it. Tells you everything you'll need to retune it. The regear is actually a better idea than trying to retune a 1406.
