New toy, 78 C10

Going to pick this up tomorrow. 78 2wd shortbed. A/C, tilt, AM/FM Cassette, 54,000 original miles, original interior, original paint, etc. Should be a fun little driver! Its gonna need a stock or 73-74 grill and an altitude adjustment with the quickness! I am WAAAAY beyond stoked!

Nice truck. Looks like a little SOS pad on that gear shifter would do wonders. Can't wait to see the changes. Good score.

WOW. Very nice! Who did you buy it from? Is it the little-old-lady owner kind of story or what? That thing is super clean.

Score, I found one just like it but the guy won't sell. Just letting it rust away in his yard.

Original owner drove it on weekends kind of stuff. Grandson got it when he passed and stuck it in a barn. A guy found it, talked him out of it. It was sitting a few years. Rebuilt the engine, trans, rear end, all brakes etc.... Now he wants a crew 4x4 so we are trading.

Good find. The crew was going to be sweet, but this one will be too. I say be tough and run slots instead of billet, though.

Re: New toy, 78 C10

Its in the garage at home. Might just simplify and sell the Cummins truck, finish this one and just enjoy driving one for a while. I enjoy spending time with my wife and little one playing t-ball and all so much, it'll be nice to just not have a "project" for a while.

Just drop the cummins in this truck! That will give you some power.

Re: New toy, 78 C10

OK, so original interior and paint is true, not 54K original miles. 154,000 miles actually. Thats all good, runs like a top! However, Craigslist strikes again, kinda. I still made the trade and drove it 1 1/2 hrs home at 75mph with zero issues. There is some rust in the front cab supports and floor above the cab supports. Inner fenders rusted and some in the front lower fenders as well as a dented tailgate. Not a big deal but was undisclosed none the less. I am going to go through the mechanicals and do the front brakes this weekend. Pics Saturday hopefully.
