Question Re: how much power have i gained from these mods?

ok i tried installing the airaid mit kit this weekend and it will NOT fit i tried and tried and with no avail the darn thing wont go the box has to be at a 45 degree or so angle for it to work properly other wise i gotta get a rubber coupler with a 3 5 8ths inside diameter flexible tube for it to work properly does any one have any suggestions as to why this would happen and could also send me in the right direction thank you
