Does anyone have or recommend a good brand of Hard Cover for a stepside truck...? I am looking for one, I dont need it right now but will eventually. What brands are good, which are not as good, and of course the most obvious question, which one is cheapest (money wise)? I know Gaylords make them but they are pretty expensive. I havent had the time to look myself and any help would be muchly appreciated.

BTW: I've been quoted a price of $825 for a Gaylords cover. They may be good, but not at that price!! The Checkmate FX(topic above) looks much better from $$$ POV (custom fit $389?)and I also like the 'flush fit', esp. in a stepside.

FWIW I priced out the cost of 2 sheets of FRP(fiberglass sheet), 40' of hefty 1" aluminum angle, piano hinge and gas struts as if I was going to build one, came to about $250-$300.

I'm curious where you've found FRP available. I've been looking for some for quite some time and nobody around here even knows what it is until I mention the nasty green corrugated panels at Homey Depot. I'm looking for flat (not corrugated like HD's) and 50" on the short side (for a step bed cover). Got any leads??
