They are so cool. Here is the one I built for my son. I fabricated everything except the rear fenders. I painted it also. I have a lot of hours in it and he loves it. When he is bad I threaten to take his bed and use it for my 54.

No better way to turn them into little hot rodders... but now when he grows up you could go to jail if he tells someone you made him sleep in the bed of a truck his whole life... ha ha

When we were young and a bit crazy in the mid 70's we would put a spare mattress in the back of the 48, make up the bed with sheets and blankets and snap the tonneau cover back over it and head to a rod run and camp in the back of the truck. my wife of 43 years wouldn't go for a truck bed bed or truck themed bed as much as she likes the 48.

reminds me of the time I was dumpster diving for boxes and packing materials to ship off car parts, perfect timing!! I was upside down over the edge of a dumpster, behind a strip mall with a store, I spotted some packs of meat, just thrown out, and thought " what a great treat for my old dogs" just then a few gals came out for a break, my kids, (who were waiting to go to lunch) yelled..(hurry up daddy, we"re hungry !!) as I emerged with my meat prize saying,," 'm coming, look what I got !!) meat held high in triumph!! boy , I got NASTY looks..LOL
