Which manual?

With my 72 i'm given the choice of a Haynes which covers 67- to i think 73 and a Chiltons which covers 70 thru 79.

Which manual would you choose, which has the most detail ect?

Re: Which manual?

As mentioned the factory service manual (if you can get one) or specialty service manuals is the best way to go. However, either of those books will help you when you need quick reference material. If you can afford it get both. Never can have enough books on these vehicles.

Re: Which manual?

factory service manuals are readily available for a very reasonable price from quite a few vendors here
it's just as hard as a phone call and you will have one on the way to you

Re: Which manual?

Thanks guys, i totally forgot about a factory service manual, i'll check into that and the PDF's too.

I bought a Chiltons about 1994, unfortunately i found out after i got it that an entire chapter was omitted, always wanted to replace it but and never did. I was never happy with the newer trucks rolled into a manual i needed as well, found many areas in that manual i didn't like.

Re: Which manual?

I didn't check their site. They are the ones who make/made the factory shop manuals. I don't know how far back you can order from them, but it's the Helm Book that you need to look for
