Z71
What is the Z71... My brother in law has a 2008 or newer Tahoe Z71 but is not 4wd... I thought all Z71s were 4wd.... So what does it mean. He bought the Tahoe brand new also

Re: Z71
thats a good question... the z71 was the designation of the "off road package" which includes generic skid plates and 4 wheel drive.
i thought the z66 was the 2 wheel version i have a z71 suburban... love it... but i guess that designation is just a glorifed trim package now...

Re: Z71
With the redesign in 07, z71 was offered on 2wd and 4wd models. The shocks are different and it has a limited slip rear axle. And it says z71 on the gauge cluster. And a roof rack if its a utility. That's about it.

Re: Z71
Z71 on the lower rear quarter panels just like all the others.... It floored me, I argue with him at first.... Looks like a regular Tahoe
