Valve covers

Hi everyone,

Would anyone know of a set of aluminum valve covers that taper back in the front like these stock ones? Whoever put in the after market A/C pump has it mounted so close that I don't think straight up valve covers will work. The A/C pump could be moved but it would be a royal pain.

I dont know of one by brand, But, Id look on ebay----they seem to have every valve cover known to man!!

Could you maybe get a longer belt to allow to tilt away more?

don't know if these will work, but I have them for sale. They're brand new and have been coated with Nyalic to keep them looking new.

When looking at aftermarket V/C's if your able[and you are because it has the stock ones] short V/C's are the way to go. Because in the specs or ads for the ones the the shops list most all say will clear air or not. Jim

vette aluminum finned valve covers are cast aluminum and should have a similar slant. Originals not cheap, but repops are reasonable. Oh, and they are cool

if you shop for used ones, keep in mind you need to make sure that they are not the "staggered hole" type (i.e. from when the sbc had uneven mounting holes for the valve covers - they were closer together on the top). You'd want the non-staggered type. I believe they were 7-fin covers.

Thanks for all the info I'll check some of these out. I could put on a longer belt but that would be a last resort because the mounting plate would have to be extended as well as both compressor braces.

I have but they're so thin that I can't get them to quit leaking. I removed the old oil saturated cork gaskets and replaced them with the expensive Felpro Perma Dry Plus ones and they still leak. They're not warped but you can't over tighten them or they'll leak worse. If I can't find an aluminum set I may have to use the right stuff to seal these.
