Tough cutting 3/8" airline n getting an even cut with the internal white reinforced sleeve. I attempted using a quality metal tubing cutter tool. Not real happy with the results though. Any pointers out there with good results?

I have never used a tubing cutter myself I always use a fresh razor blade like scoti suggested. Make sure to place the tube on a good flat surface. Lay the tube flat and center the blade on the tube and press lightly while you rock the blade side to side. Make sure you get a good straight cut. If you have a lot of cuts you could make a jig to help speed things up. But a new blade will cut it like butter

Very good advice above. Also, if you cut the line and insert into a push-to-connect fitting, make sure to re-cut the line every time you remove and re-insert into a fitting. The fittings put small gouges on the line to grab it and hold in place. It is just a good idea to cut these off, if you remove and re-insert the same line.
