Re: wing window rebuild

Ok
well first get all your parts together. Than figure out what ya need.
Then tell us how far they are broken down.
What kind of shape is everything in?
From there we can help ya get it together.
Do you have new rubber for the vent window?
And is the old stuff out? do you have the window out of the frame?

Re: wing window rebuild

OK good ?s .
dish soap and warm water is best foer the rubber - douse in the water real good and then press in to place ,
use the factory rivits -pop rivits leave too much extra material on them
looking at you stuff you have it all looks good .
you can if you are careful separate the wing window from the frame
if you pull up carefully on the top of the frame you will be able to clear the top pin from the frame .
then add your rubber and put it bk together the same way .

Re: wing window rebuild

Make sure you have "window setting tape" for the wing window itself.it goes along the back of the wing widow evenly all the way down the back of the glass then push it into the frame evenly
As far as powder coat ....I did my entire frame ....came out nice.
I am sure paint would be nice but I just like powdercoat

Re: wing window rebuild

When you do your rivits! Do you have the rivit setting tool? If not check to see if the place where you got rivits has the tool ..make sure you put them in straight ....take your time!!!!
