'53 216 Fuel Line Diameter

The fuel line on my '53 with a 216 in it has the ends rusted to the line so the line twisted off when I went to replace the fuel pump. I have a small tubing bender that I used to bend the brake lines for my '68 GTO. My question is, what is the diameter of the steel line that I need? I can bend, cut, and flare it to my specific needs. 1/4"? I would just use the old line for comparison but it's out at my dad's with the truck and that's about 10 miles out of town so I'd have to drive out there, then back to town, then back out there, which would be too much driving.
